No sooner

Although I actually never mentioned it, I was able to finalize the deal with my employer about me leaving the company on terms most beneficial to all parties involved. This was expected all along, but it was a nice relief to finalize the deal and have it in writing. On June 1st, this was formalized and with that also the last working day of August 31st.

A couple of weeks ago, some things happened at work that raised the possibility of me leaving for Bangkok a few weeks or even a month earlier than currently planned. I would get paid in full until August 31st, they would just let me off the hook sooner than originally planned. I’ve hinted about this to some of you.

Today, I decided against doing this. For two reasons mainly. First, it would mean rushing the project activities planned for the last two months into one month. Although feasible, not exactly the right thing to do. Things have gone so well this far, why would I want to possibly ruin that by rushing things now. Another reason is that I would also have to rush all the preparations for my departure.

The only reason to go ahead and rush all this, is so I could be in Bangkok a few weeks earlier. I’ve waited this long, I’m sure I’ll be able to manage those last couple of weeks. Especially with this weather we’ve been having lately, Bangkok temperatures!
