This blogging thing

A month ago I decided to set up this blog, it’s been up and running for a couple of weeks now. There are a few things that I have observed.
One of the reasons for me to set up this blog was because I felt it would force me to structure my thoughts when writing an article. This has indeed been happening, the downside is that it takes me longer to write articles than I had thought it would and so it feels less spontaneous than I thought it would. The good thing is that having to write things down has also made me realise things that would otherwise have taken longer for me to figure out.
I thought the subject of a possible move would be an interesting subject for close friends and family, but perhaps a site like this (they are also subscribed by email) gives them too much information about the whole process and would they rather just know about milestones or something. People whom I expected to be interested don’t seem to read the articles, on the other hand there are also people (outside that first ‘inner circle’) who do regularly read up. That surprised me too.
The feedback has not been as frequent as I thought it would have been. There is ofcourse a limited audience for this site, plus I haven’t been particularly active in promoting the site. On the other hand, there haven’t been very compelling articles for people to respond to. The only article I got a *lot* of response to, was when I announced I had made up my mind. Within minutes, literally.
I’ll continue to write on here and we’ll just see how it continues.
