Hi, my name is Rob de Jonge. I’m originally from The Netherlands. I currently live in Bangkok, Thailand. I’m a level-headed, trustworthy and calm person. Most of the time. I also consider myself an eternally curious person. And seek to enjoy life.
One of the things I enjoy is being an expatriate. Ever since I was a young boy, I’ve always been interested in the unknown and other places. I left my hometown and moved to Amsterdam, but discovered this was not enough for me. I worked on plans to move to New York and later on thought about relocating to London, but never did. On a trip to Asia, I had a feeling that I had found where I needed to go. And this time, I knew it was for real. And just deciding to go was the start of an adventure which to this day I believe was the best decision I ever made.
This site is a window into my life, after having relocated to Asia. If you’re just interested in my passion for all things Apple, narrow your window to Black Bezel where I write about just that. I also have a shamelessly self-titled site where I do not focus on any particular topic. And finally, if you want to see pictures of my lunch or read my latest thought, follow me on Twitter. Here, the focus will be on living and working in Asia and other loosely related matters.
The name ‘Relocasian’ is actually the second name of this blog. It was first named ‘sixtysix’, but renamed for the relaunch. For the current name, the words ‘relocation’ and ‘Asia’ were combined to form Relocasian.
I enjoy writing this. If you enjoy reading this, even better!
